Oil giant Shell today announced record annual profits for a UK listed firm – coining a staggering £25,000 per minute.The Anglo-Dutch company unveiled annual profits of £12.72 billion – up 21 per cent year-on-year – on the back of high oil prices and increased production. However, pocketing £35 million a day didn’t seem to impress chief executive Jeroen van der Veer, who described the figures as only “good”. |

Russia's environmental watchdog said last month that project operator Sakhalin Energy, controlled by Royal Dutch Shell, is in breach of Russia's environmental regulations, and asked the agency overseeing the use of water resources to consider stripping it of 19 licenses. |
