International Corporate Accountability Groups To Release New Report on CEPSA Refinery Campo Gibraltar

Majority Owners of CESPA and Pollution  to Production Comparison Highlighted  

WHAT:     Press Conference to release new report on the Cepsa Refinery, the CEPSA corporation and its majority owners.  The report focuses on the production to air pollution released at the Campo Gibraltar refinery as compared to other refineries in the European Union.  The new report also identifies majority shareholder of the CEPSA corporation and compares the Campo Gibraltar refinery to its other refinery operations.  

A letter from international corporate accountability groups to the CEO of the majority shareholder will also be released.

WHO:    Working Group on Social and Environmental Accountability of the Private Sector (SEAPRISE) of the IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy, Global Community Monitor (Bucket Brigade), who are releasing the report. Representatives of the ESG, Verde Mar, Ageven(sp?), Plataforma will be in attendance.

WHY:    Pollution and public health threats from the CEPSA refinery have created an awareness among International organizations who wish to support the urgent campaign to clean up the refinery being conducted by organizations in southern Spain and Gibraltar.
